All projects, programs and portfolios exist within a strategic context. The organisational strategic management process is reviewed. The tools, techniques and process of program and portfolio management processes in terms of benefits management, stakeholder management and governance are explored, evaluated and applied.

This subject aims to provide you with the opportunity to apply expert, specialised cognitive and technical skills in a body of knowledge of project management to independently execute a significant research-based project or piece of scholarship.
This subject is the second of two subjects (MPM 9501 and MPM 9502) that culminate in a 9,000 word research project that demonstrates a high level of synthesis of concepts and prepares you for lifelong learning in pursuit of personal development and excellence in professional practice.
You will implement their pre-approved plan to investigate and report on special issues pertaining to a relevant research topic from within the area of Project Management, and within the context of a specialism of interest, if applicable.

Follow up your work in Masters Research Project Part A and complete your in-depth research project. Dig further into your chosen research area using qualitative and quantitative analysis methods. Recommend ways to address project management problems.

Masters Research Project Part B

This subject provides an overview of the important values, principles and key practices related to adopting and leveraging Agile ways of work to help optimise strategic organisational objectives and delivery projects in a fast-paced and dynamic business environment. The application of knowledge, skills and tools learned from other units within the MSc (Project Management) program to a project. This entails the integrative management of scope, time, cost, quality, risk, communication, procurement, human resources and risk. Research skills are used to independently solve problems in an authentic professional environment.
